About Us

San Diego Mensa is a local chapter of American Mensa, which in turn is a "National Mensa" within Mensa International. The only requirement for membership is testing in the top 2% on any of a number of standardized intelligence tests.  We have about 800 members in San Diego and Imperial Counties, California; many of them have their own Member Websites. There are about 50,000 Mensans in the United States, and about 100,000 worldwide. Orange County Mensa is our neighbor to our north-west, Inland Empire Mensa to our north-east, and Greater Phoenix Mensa is to our east.

We hold a number of Social Events (many sponsored by Special Interest Groups), and take advantage of the many Things To Do in the San Diego area. We also reach out to Gifted Children, and we even perform some Community Service.
